Thanks Randy. We appreciate your vote of confidence. I was told of this joke by someone else and had to see it for myself. Let's do the next worship service with just lights!

Sounds like someone got their panties in a twist on this one... apparently only musicians are allowed to make musician jokes (like the one about the trombone player, or the drummer, or the guitar player, or the piano player, etc. etc. etc.)

Come one, Anonymous... relax a little.

The difference: We're laughing at ourselves. This guy's serious. AND - I'm not the only musician that took this wrong. IF it was wrong. Let's talk Pat. You know who this is. Find time to talk top me.

Hey Anonymous... Actually, I don't know who you are. That's the whole point of being anonymous. If you want people to know who you are and to be able to respond to you personally, you need to sign your name.

Your comment, "This guy's serious," is baseless. First, the post tile said, "Joke." To take it as anything other than that is either borrowing trouble or indicating that you may have a grudge you need to deal with.

Second, the previous joke was about sound guys. Truth be told, I found both jokes funny.

It is nothing more than a double standard to say that if one person makes a joke it's OK, but if someone else makes the same joke it's not.

I would again recommend to untwist your knickers, relax, and laugh at what I consider to be a pretty funny joke.

If you would like me to find time to talk to you, you're going to need to sign your name next time.

I apologise for my bundled panties (which are still bundled, BTW). I apologise for not knowing how to do this blog thing without signing up.
I didn't see the sound joke, but I have great respect for the guys, especially John the Jeep guy! It's always RIGHT ON!
Second, you know as well as I that just because it says "joke" doesn't make it so. This industry is full of tension between tech's and musicians, and we need to stop it here as Christians, and be a team.
Third, I've never been to this site before, this was brought to my attention by another of your musicians you are great friends with. I honest;y thought mine were the only bundled panties (boxers, BTW) until yesterday.

Pat and Randy, the music team is kind of like family, you can bag on your own, but simply cannot allow others to bag.

If you want to talk, I have a lot more to say, but always with respect for you as a leader, and love as a friend. KEVIN CEARLEY

    Hey Kevin-

It seems as though I have offended you with this joke. It was not my intention to upset you or anyone else on the production team.

I actually shared this joke with several other artist and they all thought it was funny. They even shared with me more jokes that made fun of both “tech guys” and musicians. And to be honest I have heard most of theses jokes from you and the rest of the band!

It's really quite funny to me that I was going to post one on a T-Pet player, but I thought YOU would be the one to get upset over it. So I went with a more general musician joke to not point out one particular musician. Just in case someone on the team would think I was talking about them personally. (Guess I should have posted a T-Bone joke instead!)

The last joke I posted was on sound guys. All the sound guys here at NewCov have read this joke and laughed. Some of them even e-mailed me with more jokes to share for the blog.

All I am doing is providing a little humor to the team. (Just like you do for this team.)

Please do not take this joke personal.

However...It seems as though you have a personal problem with me. To say that, “This guy is serious,” pertaining to this joke is completely wrong and off base. You obviously do not know my heart or what I’m all about. I am one of the least serious guys I know in production. I like to have a lot of fun, while working in an industry that is very tough and straight forward. I’m all about people too.

So…If you would like, I will remove the post and no longer have musician jokes posted on this blog. I will only have “tech jokes” posted.

Again, I am truly sorry. And I hope to be able to work this out with you. I appreciate everything you do for this team. You are a great help and great addition to the band here at New Covenant.

    Randy Parker
